An outdoor kitchen is a perfect complement to your outdoor entertainment space. In addition to the traditional gas grill, outdoor kitchens can include bar seating, refrigerators, dishwashers, sinks, storage, pizza ovens, smokers, and roof structures. They can be poolside or tucked into a more intimate setting along with a dining or lounging area.
The heart of the outdoor kitchen is the grill. Features like LED lighting, sear zones, rotisseries will expand your outdoor cooking to a whole new level. An under-grill cabinet is a great feature and it not only simplifies the build and install but also provides convenient storage options. Other under-cabinet inserts are available, typically made from stainless steel, that can provide drawers, cabinet, or trash/recycling capabilities. A side burner is the next most popular item, and this moves all the cooking to the outdoor kitchen. Solid surface counter materials like granite can be used for preparation and serving areas. Bar style fridges keep cold beverages handy and reduce traffic into the house every time its time for another round. We have built several projects where an outdoor kitchen was paired with an outdoor fireplace. This is a lifestyle and can be scaled up only limited by budget and our collective imaginations.

For budgeting purposes make sure you include enough for gas work. In most cases existing gas-lines intended for portable gas grills are not sufficient for larger grills or appliance combinations.
