Landscaping: Auburn Bay 003

On the lake in the south-east Calgary community of Auburn Bay, the main focus of this home is all about the lake lifestyle. The client wanted lots of room to entertain and lounge. Some of the main focal elements we needed to incorporate are a sand beach, a contemporary gas fire-pit, synthetic turf, and low maintenance.

There is enough slope in this backyard to use some small terraces in Pisa2 to define the different areas and also create informal seating areas along the edge of the synthetic turf area and around the fire-pit. Dynasty pavers with a Holland paver border makes a bold statement. Low maintenance plant material with a black wood chip mulch plus the synthetic lawn keeps the level of care manageable.
