Bonavista Landscaping Portfolio 001 on the Beach

This Calgary garden is the lake community of Bonavista in the SE, and is one we have been working on for over twenty years as new phases have been implemented to accommodate the changing needs of the owners and their family.

The most recent phase was done to tie the house back into the garden after a major renovation addition was built on the back of the home. We developed more retaining and terraces for entertaining that lead out to the beach and putting green we developed in an earlier phase.

The retaining in this instance was done in Pisa two in a rustic color with the caps and stair treads out of reversacap coping in a charcoal color. The paving in this upper area is done in the Tilestone which is a good product to use as it compliments what was done in the original phase which as you see here is cobblestone, coming up the little more blocky look of the tilestone. There was a lot of rundlestone used on the house so we tried to compliment that with the color scheme in the rest of the hardscaping.

This seating area overlooks the lake, the beach and the putting green and flows up to this dining area & outdoor kitchen with built in grill right adjacent to the house where it is convenient. You can sit and lounge here or out closer to the lake.

Here you can do a little putting on the synthetic putting green plus the grandchildren were considered in this phase,. They just love it, come to grandmas house and play at the beach, hone their golf skills, or go for a paddle on the lake.

It is a very private garden framing this beautiful vista out over the lake. It gives you the feeling that you are at the cottage while being in the comfort of your own landscape. A beautiful garden we are proud to be a part of creating.
