At this Priddis property, we returned to design and complete the final touch to this outdoor living space. A roof structure was called for, and it was important to be sized and located appropriately to complete the space as if it had always been there. The roof also had to complement the home, and not interfere with the mountain view beyond. The homeowners love it and spend many hours enjoying this living space.
At this property we developed the space underneath the new upper deck to make an outdoor room. Protected by the deck, and outfitted with a gas fireplace and electric heaters, this is a cozy warm place to spend a Calgary evening.
Garages and sheds can be developed or modified to have adjoining covered spaces for a sheltered patio. Or, in this case, an outdoor kitchen and fireplace.
The goal here was to transform a small upper deck into an outdoor living space with a fireplace, kitchen with a gas grill, generous lounging area, and of course a roof over top for protection from the elements. This extends the functionality of this space for year-round use.
A sunroom addition is a good option for an outdoor living space. This project features an adjoining deck for when the weather is fair, And an enclosed sunroom for when it is not.
