Adding a Water Feature to Your Yard
Video Transcript
Water in the garden is very popular as it brings it to life. There's motion and sound that can either soothe or excite the senses and often there's the additional benefit off the wildlife it attracts.
We are naturally drawn to water and we love to incorporate it into our projects when we can. There are many ways of incorporating water into your garden. If you have the space and want a large water feature, we can build water features with elaborate falls that include palms, bio filters, Boggs and other features that allow you to grow water lilies and other water loving plants, have fish and provide wildlife habitat.
If you like the idea of a stream of falls but don't want a pond we can build you a pond-less stream system that uses a hidden reservoir, which houses the pump to recirculate the water rather than a pond with open water.
On this project a band-less stream gives the illusion that the stream flows into the lake.
A popular option for many residential gardens is a smaller falls that re circulates out of a small pond. These could be made in many different sizes and configurations to suit your needs, depending on how much sound you want from the feature, if you plan to have fish or plants or if the pond is purely decorative. If a natural look is not your style. There are many options for prefabricated water features made out of modern materials or designed in a more traditional style that might be found in a European garden. Often these are quite low maintenance because there are no plants and are easy to clean.
On a small scale, a popular option is a bubble rock or a solid stone is cored so water can be recirculated up inside the stone and out the top.
These are quite attractive to birds that they like to splash around on top of the stone.
For some gardens, a truly pond-less water feature is desired and the bubble rocks work really well for this application. Because there is no pond but rather a concealed reservoir, they're low maintenance and safe because there is no exposed pond,
These are becoming popular for smaller gardens where the sound and motion of water is desired, but a lower maintenance option is required.
As you can see, if you want water in your garden, you only need to consult with us to see what we can help you dream up.
