Feature Garden 1
This Calgary garden was a winner with the Calgary Horticulture Society in 2002; the last year they had a category for professionals. A total renovation of this backyard resulted in a beautiful garden with several sitting areas paved with cobblestone pavers. The retaining walls and water feature are constructed of dry-pack Wiarton limestone. The spruce ‘builder deck’ was replaced with a new vinyl covered deck and an aluminum and glass hand rail. A fire-pit, natural gas heaters, and garden lighting extend the use of this garden into the cooler evening hours.

"This is one of my favorite gardens for demonstrating how a relatively small garden can be transformed. From a boring slope of sad turf a lush garden emerges with many areas for entertaining or relaxing. This garden is 15.8m wide by 11.4m deep (52'x37'), by many accounts small. Have a look at the before / after photos and decide for yourself … you can have a remarkable garden regardless of the nature of your lot. "
